I decided to do this painting for the fond memories my generation and I have of the good times we had at the local diner. This painting was done from pictures I have of a diner close to home that we used to go to when we were younger. It was the first place around where you could get a foot-long- hotdog "all the way."
Diners were great gathering places for everyone after ball games and on Friday and Saturday nights.
Remember Curb Service? Just drive up and honk your horn. In some cases your order was taken and delivered to your car by someone on roller skates. The tray was hooked to the driver's window. What Burgers and Shakes!
It was a time of innocence. People felt good about their future and were in love with their cars. They ate, went to the drive-in movies and "Cruised" in their cars.
Do you remember leather jackets, bobbie socks and poodle skirts? Then there was Elvis,
"The King of Rock And Roll!"
